Angry Mother Harley Changes MORE Policies!

There was a recent post about HD and selling/shipping parts to Canadian customers. Then there was a post or two about HD no longer shipping internationally (which covers Canada – seems a far stretch on that policy). Now, I just got this email (posted in part):

From M&M Cycles in Sandusky, OH

“…Dear friends.

Due to a new policy from Harley that prevents the sale of Genuine Harley Davidson parts to independent dealers, such as ourselves, we are no longer offering Genuine Harley items. All current orders will be shipped, but I cannot accept any new orders for genuine Harley items…”

What’s up with all the policy changes? Are they trying to protect their dealers and was it mother HD’s idea or forced upon them BY the dealers?

Yeah, it's f*cked. Now Harley wants all of us overseas to pay 2-3 times the US prices for parts and accessories. Rear shocks that cost $424 in the US cost $1140 here in Japan.

Even more bogus, my US dealer claims they can't send warranty replacement parts bought before this policy took effect in August to my address.

so find an INDY shop to deal with in the states and have them buy your parts at their discount and have them ship the parts over to you

Indy shops are having a tough time getting HD parts, it will do nothing but hurt HD in the long run.

If any of our Canadian Brothers need a part bought/shipped to them I would be glad to order from Zanotti's and ship it to you afterwards. Just shoot me a PM.

I have ZERO interest in making anything for doing this, it just seems like the right thing to do.

If you think I am trying to scam you, don't bother contacting me. If you need help getting a part and have faith that there are still good people in the world I'd be glad to help you out. "As long as it doesn't get out of hand of course."

The e-mail fr. M&M states that HD is not going to sell to INDY's anymore!
