meh. The overseas market is small. So I am sure they are not worried about you folks in Japan and Australia going elsewhere for parts and what not. Not trying to be a dick ... just sayin
How much of a discount do you think those indy's really get? I have yet to find one get me cheaper than what I can get by calling my guy at the dealership. Course, he is a friend of mine and I get the friend price and free shipping, and no tax.
I just don't see the uproar. You see all the time on this site "The MOCO needs to do something to keep from going under" but whenever they do something, it turns into a personal slight like you walked in on them gang banging your wife

Uh... Despite the widespread belief that the Canadian provinces and territories are kinda like extra states we keep in reserve to the north, Canada *is*, in fact, another country.

My Indy shop said he can git the HD parts and have them delivered to his shop so I don't have to drive 50 miles.
He has ordered HD batteries and everything.

In business there is no right or wrong just business.
The market has been down starting in 06. Dealers have failed. The current surviving ones want policies in their opinoin that will help their ability to make income. Like the dealers that gave 20% discounts just can't advertise. Like not advertizing would increase business at the other dealers. It won't but the dealers felt that it would.
Overseas dealers want their business opportunities protected also. It is only natural. If you owned a dealership your tune would be much different than the ones being posted here.
Don't worry. Someone will find a way to get the parts and get them to the buyers at a price the buyer wants just like booze during prohibition and drugs now.
Get ready for back alley parts pushers.
