My rear end hurts BAD! Plz help fast

My husband has tailbone pain and has never had any trauma to it. Definitely get checked. Another thing to consider is changing the position of your handlebars. A more forward position might take the pressure off enough to make your riding position more comfortable. And the wheelbarrow tire tube beneath a sheepskin cover is actually not a bad idea. Basically a self-made donut cushion to relieve pressure on the tailbone. Worth remembering for sure.
I also ordered a set of mid controls. I think my forward controls are causing me to not be able to support my weight when I hit a bump. I have some black vinyl left over from another cycle seat that would be perfect to make a inner tube pouch. I love the looks of my Wide Glide but if I can't get this under control I will get a street glide or something else more comfortable. Here's another one of my girls.

See the doctor as already recommended, Also you need to trade up and get a touring bike, I am speaking from experience here, I myself with the last bike (2007 FXDSE) could not make it comfortable enough to enjoy riding over 2 miles (I have lower back problems, but that is another thread), I traded for the Road Glide Custom and have no more problems.

GeorgiaGirl, I have changed my handle bars to a more upright set.

Or you could spend $1,000's for a doctor to tell you not to abuse yourself on a hard-tail.

I left something out. I have Psoriatic Arthritis, 7 bad disc in my back and neck. Being I already have problems with my spine, I'm fairly certain this pain is something I will have to live with. I am going to ask my rheumatologist what she thinks, and I'm sure she will tell me to stay off the bike which is NOT going to happen.
I'm gonna go ahead and warn you...I'm one of those guys on this forum that is pretty rough on fellow riders that lower or "slam" their bikes down to little or no usable suspension travel, so if I come across as harsh, it's nothing personal and I apologize in advance.
I don't even know where to begin. You have known disc problems in your spine and neck (along with arthritis), yet you ride a slammed bike with a **** suspension that you almost lost control of, and you wonder why your *** hurts, or if you should see a Doctor? Kind of sounds like you are your own worst enemy.
I'm no Doctor, but I'm gonna tell you why you're in pain. First off, you're riding a motorcycle with a raked out front end, forward controls, and worthless shocks. In your normal seated position, guess where all you weight is resting? Right on your tailbone (coccyx), that's where. Every time you hit a bump with those shitty shocks, your tailbone absorbs all the impact that your shocks won't (or can't). It hurts like a MFer, doesn't it?
I don't know what kind of budget you have for improving your bike, but some decent shocks are a good start. It may not be practical for your bike to have mid controls, but they will definitely help put you in a much better riding position. Not only will mids help you sit up more straight (and get the weight off your tailbone), you will be able to better control your bike, and transfer your weight off your *** to your legs if needed to help absorb the shock of a pothole, or rough road. If your budget will allow you to buy or trade for a different style of Harley (where you sit upright, with mid controls), it would definitely be in your best interest.
I have a '93 FXR with mid controls and a 2010 Street Glide with floorboards. There is no question that my FXR with mids is every bit as comfortable as my bagger, and I never have a sore back or *** after riding it. On my bagger, I had to get a backrest to help keep my posture sitting up straight because the floorboards are positioned forward, and I would slouch. My *** and my back would be in pain after every ride before I got the backrest. Thanks to the backrest, I can now ride pain free.
Lastly, for Christ's sake, go see a frigging Doctor, and get yourself checked out. Good luck to you, and I hope you heal up quickly.

Alright already, I have taken everything everyone has said to heart. So much so I took the Burly lowering kit OFF MY BIKE and put the stock shocks and springs back on. I also took one of my seats apart and cut a 1 1/2 strip out of the center of the seat. I went for a quick ride down my road and it feels so much better. I'm going to sell the lowering kit because it does ride like a hard tail even with the pre load on the softest setting.
I HAVE A Dr APPOINTMENT next week. Again, Thank You to everyone for your advise even though some were harsh.Maybe that's what I needed.
