Default LED's Load equalizer

I don't know much about LED's, but am considering installing some.

I have heard they need a load equalizer. Is this the case for all LED lights or only for use in turn signals that flash.

If I am only installing them in the taillight and running lights do I need a load equalizer.

Thank you

Correct. If using as just standard lighting (run/park and accent) you just need to wire them up but if being used as turnsignal then yes you usually need to use a load equalizer to keep a correct flash rate.

No, not necessarily. I just did this today - I'm putting LED turns in the front and rear and I bought a solid state electronic can style flasher. I works great and was $12 at NAPA.

They carry 2 models the EL-12 is an extended life version that I bought mainly because it's not easily accessible. Don't recall the number of the other but it was around $9.

Can you talk through how you installed the EL-12 on the Harley? What year and model? It looks like it is a plug in module but don't think my turn flasher module is plug in.
