How to get paid? Cash only or other safe means? Did you ship? Looking for selling tips and or success - horror stories. Thanks

 

Never sold a bike but I did sell a car on e-bay I only accepted cash or paypal but being that the guy that bought it lived close enough he came and picked it up & payed me in cash.

Shipping I had listed that it was the buyers responsibility but that I would help get it to the shipping company.

 

I sold my old bike on e bay. I had the buyer send $500 via pay-pal to hold it and got cash from him when he picked it up. He drove from Florida to New Jersey to get it.

 

I sold a bike on E-Bay,,,asked for $500 paypal within 24 hours of winning bid,,remainder in cash or certified check ,,,pick up only,,,got my "buy it now" price for it too....

I have sold about 8 bikes now on ebay and 3 cars... i take cash or money order, require a 500 deposit though paypal to hold the bike after purchase, never had an issue to date (knck on wood)

 

i sold my last bike on ebay. i listed it locally so the listing and ad was free. it was open to anyone to view it. listing it thisway eliminates the auction. you put what you are asking, there is no bidding on it, there is just a buy now. i wound up selling it locally , within 100 miles, to someone that saw my ad on ebay. so it worked out for me.

 

Sold my '96 BadBoy on Ebay. Guy who bought it came out to California From Iowa with his wife. They saw the bike, took it for a short ride. They were going to hit some of the vacation spots before going back, and they handed me a cashier's check for the full amount. They came back in a few days and took it home in their truck. Great transaction, but really loved that bike.

 

I bought my '95 RK on ebay. Put down $1000 deposit with paypal. Picked up bike from seller and gave him a buyers check from my credit union. He mailed me the title when the check cleared.

 

I've sold three collector Mustangs with higher than average sale prices and my Buell on ebay. For all of them a deposit was required via PayPal and then full payment via cashier's check before they left my possession. Two Mustangs and the Buell were shipped with no problems and one of the Mustangs was picked up and driven to it's destination. No problems with any of the transactions. I'm listing my Night Train tomorrow and hope it goes as well as the others.
