There must have been a fluctuation in the Matrix.
I just ran out to the garage and my EVO's center piece is a hair under 6.5 inches.
The round cover itself is 8". It has a recess for the center piece.
That 8" would work if you ran it bolted to the filter itself minus the stock cover, (I have the K&N filter).

so you could just put the 8" on the end of the filter and run the screw in and it would be cool if I read that correctly

My round cover and center piece is attached to the filter itself.
EVO remember. I could run back out to the cave and look at the stock TC cover I have in a box if you want me to.

no, you don't have too.

I'm just trying to piece together a homemade stage 1 ac kit.
The backing plate is like 20 bucks, then I'll just get a filter and a round filter cover. want to go with the v wing since the dyna has a v wing derby cover.
stage 1 on a budget so to speak.

I'd bet the K&N round filter would use the same mounting center hole and you'd end up with a cool looking open filter.

Without removing the cover to measure, I'd guess the K&N is about 7" dia. so you'd end up with a 1/2" overhang with that 8" V-Wing.
Did they list the measurement on the TC one?
