If I could not have a Harley, the Triumph would for sure be my next choice.

Dealers around here are thieves and have incompetent mechanics, I've always used a local independent shop. My theory is that if they've been able to remain in business for a number of years as an independent shop they must know what they are doing. The dealers can make money on sales and stay open even if their mechanics are terrible (I know, the franchise is monitored and inspected once in awhile, but look at the staff turnover, there's a reason for it). So if I'm out on a cross country trip I just look up the local guy in the yellow pages who's been in business since '53, dealer network is not important to me.
