Lane Splitting- One thing CA gets right
#61
Here in VA we FINALLY passed a law that allows a motorcycle to legally run a red light if the sensor does not pick up the bike and give a green light after two cycles. It would be nice if it were legal to split lanes in certain situations, but I do not see that ever happening here. I have been known to split lanes from time to time, but only when traffic is stopped for a while and I want to get off the interstate, and frankly, I do not care if people like it or not unless they have a little blue light on top of their car.

This is the traffic I drive in every day. And this video shows a rider "lane sharing" in a very safe and prudent manner. He's even passing a big rig with room to spare. Nobody needs to move over for him or be inconvenienced in any way. And this looks dangerous?
