Default Headed to Eureka this weekend. Let's ride the Pig Trail

We're headed to Eureka Springs, Arkansas this weekend for a weekend get a way. Arkansas has some of the best roads in the country to ride and we plan on hitting several this weekend. Gotta ride the pig trail for sure. Anybody else headed to Eureka?

I've heard that hwy 62 west of ES was down to one lane because of 1/2 the road slide off..
I haven't confirmed that but an alternate route is hwy 12 out of Rogers over to hwy 23 below ES.
This is a great road to ride with lots of shade in the morning..

also PigTrail Harley is having an open house Aug 6 with free BBQ and vendors.

Thanks, I'll see what I can find out about 62. We had already planned on stopping by Pig Trail HD so the free food is just a plus.

Holy crap it's gonna be smoking hot in the hills and trees. Keep cool and hydrated. That whole country is beautiful, but not sure with the lack of rain.

Have a great ride!

Was just there 6 wks. ago. The 62 slide had been fixed unless there's been another one since. Drink tons of liquids, it's gonna be stuffy down there.

Take some pictures too. I will be heading down that way once the triple digit temps wane....I want to see how the trees and streams are looking.

Down in the valleys it can be very stifling and still. Think of the jungle in Cambodia or the Amazon...no air movement. Don't want to scare you off, though. It is do-able.

I am in Tulsa, and it shows to be 111 degrees right now. You will be fine, just take lots of water breaks....and pics.

Stayed in Eureka Springs 2 weeks ago Sunday Night, Monday, headed south then north on Tuesday. Had some good riding down there and a lot of neat places. Wish I could remember the places we ate at and the roads we went on but I have a terrible memory with that stuff.
In Historic downtown Eureka Springs we had dinner at Pied Piper, it was had good food. Had lunch at an old diner place with something bout a pancake in the name I think and they had good food and prices. Pig Pen Saloon had some good people and drinks. Dinner at the Rowdy Beaver was good too.

Have a good and safe ride.

Try Chelsea's Corner Cafe for Pizza and cold beer. It's where the locals go for their pizza with appropriate prices.
