I took a MSF course and the teacher mentioned just setting it behind your front wheel. It fits nicely there, most people wouldn't even see it, and most importantly, it won't fall and make your helmet useless. (Any fall from knee high or so and your helmet can get micro cracks in it.)

The odds of it being stolen are directly proportionate to how much the helmet costs and to how much you can afford to replace it.
Bingo!

Usually put it in the saddlebag, unless doing a quick stop and go.

I will put my 325.00 Nolan on my handle bars.
You come and take it off and we become enemies.
People from where I come from carry a grudge too.

Don't jack with things on anybody else bike.
If I took things off yer car or out of yer house, would you be happy.

Hell No.

My only worry is the hassle of being without one because some jerk wanted to play games with it, like maybe some kids walking by and taking it just for the hell of it. So, being as I have a Nolan with no D ring, I found a T shaped gizmo that goes through the helmet latch then I lock it to my engine guard. Sure if someone wants to be an A..hole they can just cut the strap, but what the hell you gonna do?

I won't own a Helmet with a D ring. CAn't tell you how much D rings git me upset.
Why not put D rings in yer car for seat belts instead of quick release.

You better raise yer kid to not jack with folks stuff, cause you might have to come and get them out of Jail.
I watch my bike pretty close .
Was a locksmith for 40 yrs and i hate lockin stuff up.
