Used to cable lock them to the bike, now I throw them in the tour-pak. If you decide on cable, BUY A GOOD ONE! My first was a cheapie and it fell apart in the saddles from regular bouncing around!

When I have one with me, it just sits on the seat or hangs from the handlebars when I'm parked.

I use about a 5' bicycle cable combination lock which I run through my jacket sleeves and helmet to the frame.

Will not own a helmet with D rings,
Put my helmet on the the end of the handle bars.
Haven't had anybody to take it. And I've been to the Lonestar Rally with 500,000 bikers.

Yer pretty hard up if you steal a helmet. Lots of folks don't even wear em.

I've always hung my FF from the right grip. Course I'm mostly with other bikes and we provide security. Never thought about locking our helmets.

Teens or some asshat walking by just taking it so you can't have it is what you're protecting yourself from.

Pretty much my thought too. Stopping off at the more biker-friendly bars in the area, I just set the thing on my seat. If I'm at a more "popular" location where there's teens around much, I use an actual helmet lock that I mounted on the backside of the license plate holder.

On the seat, or in a bag when they're on the bike...or over a mirror.
