Put your leg against the exhaust pipe of your car and see what happens. If these guys didn't know that the engine and exhaust is hot, they can't read, don't listen, and are just plain ignorant. Sue the MOCO! In the end crap like this will only cost you and me more to get a bike. I know the pipes are hot. I buy the HD I like in spite of the heat the bike produces. It's no secret or unknown defect. Next, someone will be suing them because it doesn't get good enough gas milage, or it doesn't accelerate fast enough, or the ride is to stiff. If they didn't know, it's because they didn't bother to look at what they were buying.

 

They were probably riding in shorts and flip-flops. If that's the case, they deserved to get burned or worse. Stupid is as stupid does.

 

Are they suing for burns caused by contact with the pipes, or from ambiant heat coming off the motor?

I learned a long time ago that when Cameraboy jumps on a thread - it's time to move on and leave well enough alone. Having a discussion with him is like having a battle of wits with an unarmed person. You can't win, because talking sense to Cameraboy is like trying to teach a pig to sing. My wife rode all over with me on the '98 Evo Ultra. Then we took one 108 mile ride to her girlfriends house the week I got the '00 FLTRSEI. She couldn't keep her right leg on the peg for any length of time. ( Capri pants.)

And I hear they've gotten hotter still.(!)
