My understanding is that it is different from the CVO 103s in that those bikes had a stroker engine and the current crop of 103s is just more displacment. But I could be wrong.

Enjoy your new bike, dont sweat it. Trying to keep up with all these bigger and better things is like chasing the wind.

OP,

Yeah I understand your grief. It would appear that the dealers would HAVE known this and sold us bikes BELOW msrp but guess those greedy bastards (directed by motoco) have to wring out every dollar for those bikes on the floor.

I think I see few folks state that those 103 inchers (LOL) are no match for a 96 inch with Stage 1. If that is so...then the 96 inch motors would still be pretty good with a stage 1 but of course we gotta chip in more moola to get that performance.

I see that the 2012 WG with the 103" is like $450 more than the 2011 WG. Which is not a bad deal but also see people state that the 103" does not have the cam upgrade? If the cam upgrade is needed to get the most use out of the 103" then that is another way moto is gonna get our money.

From my perspective...if I was going to buy a new bike and KNEW the 2012 model may come standard with 103"...I would have driven a hard bargain or walked away. Not sure if it would have worked out for me but dealers know that folks know about impending bike upgrades that are going to be release...and they are probably anxious to sell the current crop of bikes sitting on the floor. If they do not want to deal...I can say I would wait another 6 months and buy the bike that has the upgrade and buy FROM ANOTHER DEALER. Again not sure that would have worked for me but I can use that as a motivating tool and not fall in the crap of "We sell only at MSRP..."

I think that 103 will make 6th gear a bit better at 70 mph.
