Default Harley rental???

Thinking about renting a RKC for the day and see if I like it. Anyone rented before that can tell me the pros and cons of the program? Is it a rip-off?

I havew rented a bunch of times in different cities. Seems pretty standard around $150/day. Includes a helmut and rain suit. I usually google the city and harley rentals to find a place, they are not everywhere. Took my 85 year old Dad for a ride in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago, based on his big smile it was worth every penny!

Usually between $100 and $150 a day depending on how many days to rent. Not a rip off if you end up not liking the bike for your needs. I would rather spend $150 to find out I dont like it over 20k to find out

Ask the dealership to credit the price of the rental towards a bike purchase.

If you like it and buy one, rental is free. Local dealer does that for up to 3 days of rental.

If you have a bike already and it needs service, some places have what's known as a "shop rate" which can be as low as $69.00 a day.

Ask about deposits. Some places require up to $2500.00. Others only require $1000.00

Check with your insurance company. If you have rental coverage you won't need the extra loss/damage that they want to add to the rental.

Nothing else to add to the above except it cost me $300 for three days on a special, otherwise it was about the same for two days! Rented an Ultra Classic Limited (103") for the wife and I and we liked it quite a bit! Still didn't make me want to trade in the Softail, though - I was glad to get back on mine after the weekend!

Someday I'll own one because it's great for two-up...but I'll likely keep the Softail as well, two different types of rides.

I was really glad I rented an Ultra for a day before I purchased on. I think tax and insurance all in was about $180. If you have an Eagle Rider in your area they often can be less expensive but their bikes usually have a lot of miles on them

Generally have to put up a deposit of about $2,000 on a credit card. Ride and enjoy but don't trash the rental scooter, treat it as if it belongs to you.

I have rented many times while on vacations. I opt for the extra insurance so it is about $180 per day all in.
I think it is a great way to try a new bike. You get 24 hours and unlimited miles so ...plan a trip!
