Although it has been mentioned a few times, I'm going to give one more plug for skullcrush helmets.
I have a HUGE head (size XXL), but I'm only 5'10" and weigh 185. I'm not a particularly huge individual.
I have a DOT Daytona half helmet... It's "ok".. but still rather large.
I have a DOT Daytona German helmet.... I never wear it, it gives me massive mushroomhead.
I have a Daytona Non-DOT Big German helmet... looks great, but has ZERO padding... literally, zero. just a thin external layer of fiberglass.
I've tried on every half and 3/4 HD helmet they make.... they are all awfully huge.
...........
For xmas, my wife bought me a skullcrush carbon fiber german helmet. Just as thin as the not dot Daytona, but with significant memory foam padding. Plus, its made out of REAL carbon fiber and kevlar. It's strong. The quality is impeccable, feels light, looks great... looks amazing actually... and I feel safe, even if it isn't dot.
I feel more safe than my DOT half helmet... simply because the helmet is so much more "sturdy".
I never post pics of myself.... but here's my son on xmas day wearing my new skullcrush.

i bought this model from the dealer http://www.harley-davidson.com/mcm/m...S&default=true it is not a full face helmet but a 3/4 in disguise. the chin that flips up is very thin (cheap) plastic and offers no protection from an impact other than a small stone or a texas sized mosquito. the flip down sun glasses inside are a cool feature but are not near dark enough. i removed mine and applied some window tinting and am happy now. the mechanism that operates the lock for the flip up chin is very cheap and mostly plastic and is held in place by two dowel pins. one came out twice and i could not flip it up until i fixed it. it is NOT a very good seal as far as keeping wind or moisture out either. i would not recommend or buy this helmet again.

And that is the cutest helmet model I have seen so far on this thread. ;-)

Full Face
Shoei
RF 1100
Personally prefer full face helmets. Makes me feel more safer and none really fit my head like a Shoei!! Over the years I have owned them all Arai, HJC, Suomy ... but I never found anything as good as the Shoei's. Then again, it's a very personal choice!

Wife just got this for me. Torc 3/4 with built in speakers. Quite comfortable on but haven't put many miles on it yet.
Usually ride in a flat black half helmet or a gloss black HJC FF for long highway rides. All of the lids are DOT. Military requires we always wear DOT helmets, long pants, long sleeves, boots, and gloves whenever we ride. Better to be safe anyway.
