bar hoping - no
long rides - definetly for the wind, otherwise I can't sleep at night from the constant "ringing"[:@]
I find on long rides it makes things a bit more "peacefull" - actually a cool effect like more surreal kinda sorta

I don't wear them with my full helmet, but do wear them on the highway when going helmetless ( they quiet things down, soften the wind, and make the ride more comfortable ). I don't wear them if just running around town.

I wear a Shoei X-11 full-face helmet and never wear ear plugs. On my previous bike, a Yamaha V-Star 650, I had Bub pipes that were so loud I had to wear plugs even for short rides around down. When I got the SG, I made sure that the pipes (SE Racing slip-ons) wouldn't be loud enough that I'd need plugs. Plus I like to listen to CDs a lot while riding.

Yep

Do and don't.....depends on the ride. The longer the ride the more likely I am to wear them.

Me Too. More so if I wear the half helmet.

To be perfectly honest I always wear them when I'm on the shooting range. Its murder on your ears when the guy next to you lats fly with a heavy load in a trap gun with a vented barrel, a big bore magnum rife/handgun. But I never considered using them on a bike.
I'm going to have to try to remember that next time I'm going out and give it a try. The engine isn't a problem with a stock engine and pipe setup, but the wind is really a PITA when you get over 60 or so mph with a half helmet. Especially as its starting to get a bit nippy around here at times.
Thanks for the tip guys.
