RE: Ear Plugs...Who wears 'em?
bar hoping - no
long rides - definetly for the wind, otherwise I can't sleep at night from the constant "ringing"[:@]
I find on long rides it makes things a bit more "peacefull" - actually a cool effect like more surreal kinda sorta

ORIGINAL: grunt
Wear them on longer trips to stop the wind noise. The pipes are not the problem. I got those custom ones they mold in your ears. You can still hear the regular noises, but most of the wind whip is gone.

Got some ear thumps for my iPod and they work great.

For short highway trips (under 1/2 hour), I wear earplugs. If I'm going to be cruising the slab for over 1/2 hour, I break out my mp3 player and noise isolating in-ear monitors. In the city - no plugs.
My lid is an ACC DOT 1/2 helmet.
Cheers!

I wear them quite a bit.. foam type or whatever I have in my pocket. The wind noise gets old after a while. Probably wouldn't if the 1/2 shell had some kind of ear-cover to keep the wind from whistling around my ears. Notice I don't use them as much with the windsheild on though.. Makes me realize just how dang loud the pipes are... The pipes even get a little old after 20 minutes or so though, if I just riding along on the highway.. kinda droning.
