Default Today I discovered the maximum temperature

I'm not one to whine and complain, especially about the heat since I presently make my living installing commercial and residential central air conditioning systems, heat = $$$ for me.....

However today I discovered the maximum temperature at which riding a motorcycle is no longer enjoyable......

105° with a heat index of 125°......

Even at 70 mph it felt like I was riding through a giant oven......

with that said....my heart and best wishes goes out to our men and women in uniform working the big sand box, no doubt it's like this every day for them....

A wet bandana around your neck will make all the difference in the world.

Wet bandana works, sorta, for about ninety seconds, then it's dry. Been triple digits here for three + wks. with no end in sight. early morning or night is the only time to ride without sitting in a puddle of your own sweat.

I rode Tuesday, 94 degrees, with leather jacket, gloves, kevlar jeans, and gloves. Got passed by a guy riding with no shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes. Not bad until I stopped at the red light then with the engine heat I got a bit anxious for the light to change. Regardless of the temp, I'm not riding on the freeway without protective gear.

For every bead of sweat, I laugh at the snow and ice. It's a long, cold winter.
