I guess if a 20 year plus biker is a troll, that's me.
It was my opinion, I like it a lot, they will sell a lot of them.
I think the bags need a little more design finishing, I just felt at the price point for me the road king was a better choice. I started on a dyna and love them. If it's what you want and makes you feel like it's the right bike for you.
The city messenger comment was a joke, guess perki48 can't take one.
The bags are small and if you've ever been more than 5 miles from home, bigger bags are better.

I'm guessing you weren't riding HDs in the '70s. Bike looks like what many of us did with the FL models - bags and windshield on for trips, off for cruising the hangouts. Looks more like an HD than the current FL touring models with their too-high seating, goofy (yeah, they work, but ...) looking reversed trees, and butt-ugly frame if bags are removed.

Maybe a 20 year biker that needs to comprehend his reading, I have not responded to ANY of your post.

I sat on one yesterday and liked it. It wasn't ready for test rides yet so I can't comment on it's performance. It sits lower than my Road King and when I stood it up I could easily tell that it was also 100 lbs lighter! It's a good looking bike and I think Harley has put together a winner here. I wouldn't trade my Road King for it but it's a good choice for someone who likes the Road King style but can't handle the size or cost of the bigger bike.

I checked out the Switchback in person today. To me the bike looks far better in person, and I liked it just seeing some of the photos online. For the folks who are commenting about being "vertically challenged" or lowering it, the seat height is only 26 inches and the front part of the seat is narrow so most shorter riders should fit fine on the bike. The seat felt great, but I'd like to see how it does on a long ride.

I'm about 5'10" and the bike fit me perfectly. It should fit up to 6 foot tall folks, but if you start getting to 6'2" or 6'4" or taller you may indeed need the Road King to be comfortable. I'm comfortable on a Road King too, but I still like a bike that can be stripped down to be just a plain old cruiser and the Switchback looks incredible without bags and shield (my opinion).

For several years I've considered finally buying another new Harley, but none of them seemed to suit me without making quite a few changes. This new bike makes me REALLY want to buy one (at least if I like it after a test ride). If it does turn out to be popular I may wait until winter or next year until the "new model" thing plays out.

I saw one in person today. Pictures don't do it justice, much better looking bike when you're standing beside it

It looks just like the one that I just bought this weekend. 2011 Street Glide. I love it looks good and not as bulky as the ultra.

It looks like the FL's from the 60's. A mix pedigree for sure.
