There are multiple years featured, but the tanks are pretty much all the same type. They cover a lot of years, but not every tear. I would say there are about 100 tanks on display.

I found this pic on the web (sharing was permitted) -

Some favorites of mine -

You get the basic idea, but you really have to see them in person to appreciate the workmanship. Beautiful.

There were a lot of bikes to look at. Some were recreations like the Captain America bike (the bike museum in Anamosa IA supposedly has a real back up Captain America bike from the film - saw it, but what do I know?), and a lot of noteworthy bikes like Elvis's Sporster, among other things. The pics I have posted just scratch the surface and aren't necessarily the highlights of the collection - just stuff I happen to like.

Wrapping it up...

A nicer old Sporty -

81 Nova mock up (non -running) -

Cool Super Glide -

Another Green and White beauty -

They have a bunch of nice bikes for the museum goers to sit on and dream of the open road. Naturally the gf decided to put on a little show -

Just as the show was getting good, one of the attendants rounded the corner and busted her.

Lol - the blur is her jumping off the bike and running for the exit! The guy laughed and told me she made his day.

Thanks for sharing. Post number seven, the seventh bike, (the one after the tank), was a Jesse James rebuild of an old frame married to a Harmon front fork assembly. If you look closely you can see the springs for the forks are hidden in the down tubes. These front ends were state of the art in the day. If I could find one I might try and build a sporty for it or maybe marry it to my Deuce.

I won two tickets at the musem's bike night this spring. I'm looking forward to seeing the X collection. I saw Evel Kenivel last year and thought it was very interresting.

I'm happy you guys enjoyed the pics!

As a reminder, if you do make the ride down (up, over), think about doing it on a Thursday so you can do Bike Night. The beer is a little pricey, but the crowd is good and attendance is strong every time. Lots of bikes to look at in the parking lot. Some local restaurants and bars do a Bike Night that night as well, and then there's Jazz in the Park downtown, which rarely features Jazz oddly enough. But, it's well attended as well.
