Default Damn weather kills me every time...

Why is it that every damn time I have a planned ride the weather goes to **** on me? Not like riding in the rain is any fun but riding in the rain on my Shovelhead always turns out shitty. The magneto just does not like running when it's wet. Putting a plastic bag over it helps but the old scoot just don't like it. Wish me luck. Think I'll pick up some new goggles.

On my old Hunt magneto I used to spray it down with Alberto VO5 hair spray to water seal it (worked pretty good), only had to respray it after popping the top to change or set the points.

Just a thought, and it beats plastic bags melting on the pipes after they get all distorted from the wind (like that never happened).

I know the feeling all too well. Weather never likes to cooperate. Good luck!

WET? RAIN? what foreign language are you speaking??

if you lived in South Texas, all you'd have to be concerned with is "is it HOT or HOTTER".

I'm superstitious. Please don't use "kills me" in your thread. Don't want it to come true.

I always used dielectric grease in my magnetos on the plug wire terminals and hair spray to seal them. Haven't sealed a magneto in over ten years so I am not sure if it still works. Check and see what they are using to seal swamp buggy's now. Their crap runs under water and that is where I learned the hair-spray trick. Had someone one time tell me they used model airplane glue but I never tried it ---so I wouldn't recommend it. Last week I was fighting a summer cold on my days off. Rode some but felt like crap. Today is my first day off after a long set and it is rain plus I am just now getting over that summer cold. Maybe tomorrow but I am not going to gripe about the rain.
