Default Should I get apes?

I love ape hangers!
But I bought My heritage to be comfy.
I'm 6'2" and want 16" apes.
I've never rode a heritage with apes, are they uncomfortable or aggravating ?

And what's a good place that sells a complete kit?

Thanks for the help
Micah

Apes are the most comfortable bars,IMHO. Any bike I have/had has apes on it. HCC seems to be a popular place to get complete kits.

I'm not crazy about the look or feel of large apes, especially the feel. I have some right shoulder problems, so even if I liked them, they would not be an option. If you go for those super apes, you may DEVELOP shoulder/arm/wrist problems.

The funny thing is, Heritage bars are like a "standard". They are a VERY popular bar that is used as a swap for other bikes' bars.

Think much before proceeding.

I've got 16" Chubbies on my "11 Heritage and love them. I put 4.5" Deluxe risers under the stock bars to see what I needed...which was a tad bit more. I don't like them pushed far forward as some prescribe. But all of my previous hogs have had apes. As mentioned, HCC has some decent packages, I chose to buy the individual components.

I've got 16's on my custom bobber it don't hurt me but I don't lay back like on my heritage. I just love the way they look. I think I can roll them back to be comfy and push forward to look good.
I did a search on here a good bit of bad things said about hcc quality.

I have the 18" Wild One Chubbys on my Heritage. They look sweet and the ride is great. However, check the width. My 18" Chubbys are 40" wide. Whereas my Carlini's (17") are 34" wide. SJ Ron

I still have the stock bars, comfortable for me. Eventually going to get 14 inch apes.

Ape's are the way to go, had them on my Heritage and about to put them on my Bagger.

Takes a couple rides to get used to them, but once you do, you'll never go back.
