Never liked 'em. IMHO, they only look good on bobbers or FX Softails, but I would be afraid of too much leverage especially when braking hard. They really look ridiculous on baggers, especially with fairings, but I know they're in style now. Never was one much for following trends. For myself--I like drag bars & risers,or regular RoadKing/Fatboy bars. Stock Heritage bars are fugly!

Dickey,

Us tall guys with Baggers don't have a choice, to be comfortable, Apes are the only way to go.

you won't regret going with the apes. I know a kit sounds like the easiest way to get it done but so few companies make complete kits that you are severely limiting your bar choice. Find the bar you want first, then worry about cables and such, IMO of course.

Comfy for me. 5-10 and 18". Had beach bars on my fat boy. Won't go back on a bike that I take on longer rides.

Thumbs up get them to fit

Have apes on my softail custom. They feel great, (much more comfortable than people know.) Nobody here will admit it, but it will limit your turning and balance a bit, (So does my rocker.) As long as you are skilled and keep your riding chops up, you will never have a problem. Proper fit is essential. If you are unsure, go slightly short and fix with the risers.

I've never rode a heritage with apes, are they uncomfortable or aggravating ?

And what's a good place that sells a complete kit?

Thanks for the help
Micah
