Default Blue Loctite for a Oil Change ?

So I'm getting ready to do my 1k Service. Bought all the "STUFF" , studied the Service manual, read a ton of threads and I think I'm ready but.... I watched a video on youtube on how to change your oil and the guy used Blue Loctite on the Oil Plug bolts thingys when he put them back in. Seems a little overkill but maybe not.?

Anyone do this ?

FWIW, I have changed my Oil and done pretty much all the maintenance on my previous bikes and Cars. Just never did the 1k Service before. Never used Blue Loctite for a oil change either. Not saying its bad to use either but I'm curious what you peeps do ?

I hope you are not referring to the drain Plugs? I use a new o-ring on every change and a tiny dab of permatex thread sealant. Are you sure that is not what you saw the guy use?

Now way I'd put that on my oil plug. Never used it on any vehicle and have never had a plug come loose. As to the O ring. Changed my plug on my current bike 9 times and original O ring not leaking a drop.

Use Teflon paste thread sealant on the plug, not Teflon tape. The plug will seal and come back out easy.
The Fix My Hog videos advise you to use the teflon paste.

No loctite for me. Just replace the o-ring and torque to spec. Never had a leak.

Never have but the Blue would not hurt anything, Would not help either but if he wants to use it, let him. He could weld it back in for all I care.
