It's worth going up and asking. I have bought a bike from them before long ago.
Look it over really good. Look around the bottom of the jugs for seepage. Evo's with high mileage are prone to leaking base gaskets. If it hasn't been mistreated you may be good. Mine went over 60,000 miles before I had to redo the top end. It would have went further, but my base gaskets were leaking so I had the whole top end redone. You're not new to bikes, so I'm sure you know what to look for when shopping for a used one.

If the bike is in good condition, and they'll treat you right on the trade in, I'd go for it. One thing I can promise you that Evo Dyna will have plenty of soul.

i think it's a nice looking bike and the price is very good. that vic motor will be missed though. however i don't know about tacking $4000 on top from what you will be upside down on the vic and then being so upside down on an older dyna.

I think he'll be missing those Victory brakes more than the motor, haha.

I'd avoid doing that if at all possible. Good price on the Dyna but you will end up even farther upside down on the loan.

I know it's a horrible idea but it's getting close to the time of handing the keys back to the credit union. I've found some jobs but I can't do them because of my leg. I've ended up in a totally screwed situation as far as keeping something 2 wheeled. If I could have lower payments we could squeak by for now. Things aren't gonna last as they are

I don't think it's an especially good price considering the bike is 15 yrs old and has 32K miles on it. And it's a Dyna.....The price is average IMHO.

I wouldn't do it either. I think in the long run you will regret it. Just curious how you ended up owing more than your bike is worth? High finance rate, or just the depreciation of Victorys in general?

Shu as long as you can stay on 2 wheels I'd say go for it.

I've been in a similar situation - it sucks hard. Sorry to know that wolf is approaching the door and obviously I don't know the details but this does sound a lot like borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. Maybe a conversation with your Finance Company would be worth doing? They may be able to shuffle things around to ease the burden a little. Just a thought...

The 1997 and last year of the Evo Dyna, the 1998 were very good years. I had a 98 and wish I hadn't sold it. Rock solid very nice running bike. Go for it Shu!
