Rode over it about 3 weeks ago on my Heritage....Wasn't a problem. Just try crossing at a slight angle which helps cut down on the wiggle factor.......Ride and have fun as it does have great views crossing.

That's good to know! I guess it's been a while since I went that way! I don't care about the metal joints. If the deck is concrete or asphalt as clap says, I'm good to go!

Thanks for the updates, everyone!

Sorry, maybe I called the bridge the wrong name. I am talking about the bridge on Rte 50 from Annapolis to Kent Island. (Although someday I'd like to do the CBBT!)

katiedog's description is how I remember it. The grating obviuosly makes the bike a little unsettled, but the wind is what got me. I'll be riding it again in August.

You'll be fine. Enjoy the ride, it's one of my favorites.

Metal grate drawbridge decks are ok...just let the bike do the work and relax. Do not steer or brake while on the metal. We have a couple short ones in Ohio....not fun in the rain. But they just replaced the one over the Maumee River.

You'll be fine on the grates. Follow the advice these other guys had and watch the cross wind

I'll be riding 13 (CBBT) up to Salisbury and over the OC for Delmarva this year

I just crossed it a couple of hours ago. As has been said, no more grated decks, just a channel in one of the lanes that you can ride on either side of. I have been across it in some high winds, though. Just layed down over my tank and leaned into it and said to myself, self, it's only 4 miles long, you'll make it okay, lol.

Brings back memories....I rode across that bridge the night I graduated from High School ...41 years ago....On a Sears 106..
You'll be OK..I don't think anybody has ever fallen off that bridge.
