Exactly. I started a thread early in the weekend about the same thing, and got vilified for it.

Sad story. At the least the scumbags bail is set accordingly. I don't care what kind of excuse are used as to why the car veered into the other lane. In my world, there are rarely any "accidents."

I parked the bike Friday night at 11pm. Stayed off the road all weekend. My condolences to the families.

That accident happened about 20 miles from us. Despite how nice back roads and state hiways are they are so freaking dangerous nowadays with all the distractions drivers have...kids, cell phones, texting, you name it...it only takes a second before you're in the other, oncoming lane and bam! It's all over for someone.
Like a previous post said...I don't ride on holiday weekends just because there are so many people out there and they're not paying attention. Heck, it's getting to where riding anywhere is becoming so dangerous I've having 2nd thoughts about owning a bike after 45 years of riding. And as much as I like having the convenience of a cell phone I'd vote for legislation to BAN cell phone use of any kind in cars in a heartbeat.

+1 My car never veers into the other lane by itself.

I sure feel safer on the road knowing there are all these perfect drivers who never get distracted by anything while behind the wheel, and who have never crossed left of center for any reason. And, since anyone who does is a scumbag who should be thrown under the bus, surely that means that all their family members are all perfect drivers as well. I sure feel safer now....

Really? So if I rear-end a car, it's a fender bender and we all walk away. If I rear-end a motorcycle and the rider dies, it's homicide?
