Test Video with GoPro
#14
Mike,
The video has gone through a couple of reproductions, so that has sacrificed the quality somewhat. The GoPro records in a quicktime format. That has to be converted in editing software, then the aspect ratio sometimes has to be converted again depending on what site is hosting.
Youtube's HD is 720 and the camera will record up to 1080
The distortion (skipping/buffering) you see is caused by an effect(transitions) in the editing software. The original videos didn't have any of these issues.
In regards to sound, I'm still figuring this out. These videos were taken with the water/wind proof casing. I'm going to experiment with the other casing and see if it causes too much wind noise. You could hear the engine somewhat in this video, but Youtube didn't like the song I had originally put in the video. Because of this they removed all sound and I was forced to replace with a song that was "allowed".
I'm still learning the ins and outs of the camera and the software.
The suggestion of keeping the sun to my back is a good one.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking it was probably during the upload to youtube. I guess the video quality you have is the same or comparable to the gopro website?
Good job and thanks for sharing your experience.

What editing software did you use?
I've tried a couple but so far they take forever to process the MP4 into anything else that someone without a GoPro can see . . . and they are rather difficult to use when you want to parse the video.
