Default No one stopped for brokedown rider in Vegas heat

While riding home yesterday I saw a rider with his Shovelhead along side of the road. I gave him thumbs up/down to see if he was OK. He gave me the thumbs down, so I swung back around to see what was up. When I pulled up, he said he just ran out of gas and had been sitting for almost an hour, and NO ONE bothered to see if he was OK. In that time he said all kinds of bike riders went by and didn't give him a second look. What really floors me is that it is a large, busy road with 4 lanes of travel each direction, and nobody even cared to see if he was OK. That is the one thing I don't like about Vegas, no one gives a crap except about themselves. I always check on any rider I see on the side of the road, regardless of what they ride. But I was raised differently, I guess....

Oh and yes, I did get him some gas and got him safely on his way. A North Las Vegas motorcycle officer stopped as well to give us some protection with his lights going.

It still baffles me that all those bike riders would pass by and leave a brother on the side of the road in Vegas summer heat...

I agree. Many people here so damn....self centered.
I went for a ride this morning to drop off a thank you gift at the dealership.
On the side roads I let in 5 cars. Slowed down, and waved them to go in front of me when I saw their blinker on. Not ONE waved or signaled a thank you.
Discouraging, it is.

Yep it's the same just about everywhere I've been. It's all about me attitude and no one cares anymore. Props to you for helping out.

Now you people know why Midwesterners put up with the cold. Not as good as it used to be, but people still stop in general. Usually when I stop noone wants help, but I still stop.
Jeffrey Dahmer didn't help things, that's for sure!

Well I'll be the first to admit, sometimes I stop, sometimes I don't, all depends on the situation.

Well done, that heat is dangerous as hell.

I always stop for a bike on the side of the road whenever possible. Most are just having a smoke or digging out their cell phone to make a call, but some have been broken down and needed help so I did what I could for them, whether I was in my truck or on my bike.

I think you can sorta tell if someone is in need - "Thank you" for stopping and helping - So many people are so caught up in their white noise every day - glad to know there are still some caring and attentive folks out there -
