I vote Dyna!

I'm a taller guy and the laid out stretch of the Wide Glide fits me about perfectly. I tend to find the Sportsters a bit cramped on longer rides.

I'm considering a new HD. I own a 2000 Sportster XL. It runs great BUT I'd just like to try something a little different, even if it's another Sportster. I know I need to test ride a new Sportster and Dyna before I decide but in the meantime I'd appreciate any input as to why I should get a Dyna vs another Sportster.....cost notwithstanding.

Here's a little background. I never ride 2 up. 99% of my riding is day trips of 100 to 200 miles, most of which is not on the super slab. I don't ride aggressively....I'm too old for that...lol.

Thanks in advance
If it is between these two bikes, the dyna wins hands down, these are "apples and oranges". When you ride a non sportser Harley you will never go back to a sportster.

I put extensions on my FXSTC. At 6'-3" I need leg room. I rode a freind of mines Sportster recently and it was pretty small for my height. Fits her perfectly though. And before you azzclowns start with the "Yeah right. You're just finding an excuse to call it a 'Girls Bike'" It really DOES belong to a woman in this case.

You've got to be kidding. Not enough difference? Have you ever in your life ridden a Dyna or a Sportster? There is a huge difference and personally, I'd rather have a Dyna than a softie.

OP, get the Dyna and ignore anyone that says there isn't enough difference. Ride one and see for yourself.

First off the Sportster is not a girls bike as some say. I loved my Sporty and there's nothing girlie about me. I came close to grabbing a new one until I rode and bought my Heritage. It's all personal preference and whatever you like riding that's what you should get.

An additional 384 cc, extra ~150 lbs, and an extra 1.7 fuel capacity is a noticeable difference, IMO.

I'd say there's less difference between a Dyna and a Softail than a Sportster and a Dyna.
