+1 on Ped Fed. Costs $20 to join the credit union. Almost used them for my bike loan, until Harley Credit beat their rate. Also, I think you get a better rate with them if you apply for the loan online.

have to agree with using a credit union, only takes $25.00 to open account and there rates can't be beat by a bank and for sure not by harley. call around there all between 3 and 4%.

I'll start looking at the credit unions. Thanks.

Sorry, I was just having fun with a new site I found. I agree about credit unions being the best option.

When I decided to buy a new bike, I 1st went to my own bank, to setup financing. They would have loaned me money to buy a house, yacht, aircraft, RV, or just about anything BUT a motorcycle. Same bank had issued me a Visa w/ an untouched credit line of $8,000. They had also offered super-low interest on cash advance/balance transfers. They put the money in my checking account, charging me 2.9% for a year. I paid it off before the interest went up.

If you have good credit, and have not already stretched yourself out too thin, just use interim financing.

StateFarm and I think Nationwide also do motorcycle loans. Not sure how competitive they are though.

i woulden`t be concerned about rates if your going to pay off early just make sure there is no early payoff amount, it cost me five bucks to join a credit union a local one, than they wrote a check in 30 min, i finaced for 5 yrs than paid off in 6 mo. to est, a good repore with them if i ever need down the road they were actually one percent higher than my bank but no fees and no early payoff i use bank for my credit cards, but now have a repore with credit union
