Default least ammount of miles on rear tire

What is the least ammount of miles any of you have had on a rear tire? I live in southeast missouri, these chip seal roads KILL tires quick, i got about 5k out of dunlops, but then i switched to me880's looking for better, the performance of the me880 is second to none, first rear i got just under 3k and now on my second i have almost 2k and might be able to get another k if im lucky... btw my front is a me880 and was changed within 300 miles of the back, it looks BRAND NEW maybe 2% worn off

the only difference between the front and rear tire running on the road for the same miles is the front one has no "pull on acceleration"
they both have "pull " on braking.(if you use both brakes)

aggressive power wears rear , aggressive rear braking wears rear.
rolling down the road might wear the rear a little more due to the weight on it , however it is usually "riding style" that cause excessive wear on the rear...

btw stay off the banks of the 11 point river ,and you will get better milage ....lol...

ha ha, i live within 2 miles of the north fork of the white river, and i do take corners aggressivly, and accelerate quickly but i use my brakes 70/30 or so, been riding on two wheels since i was 4 and got my first enduro, so its not like im a rookie, its 23 miles to the closest place to buy, gas, bread, or smokes. there are 63 corners that have a suggested speed of less than 40 mph between here and there. i own a fxdx for a reason too, i guess its par for the course

My buddy only got 18 miles out of his.....from the campground to the burnout pit at the IronHorse!! Some have more "cents" than "sense"!

I like metzlers but about 6k on rear 3 rears to a front on RK and RG dunlops 8-10 its not the corners that wear them out unless there bald on the out side not the center when u change them if so my hats off to you.

I got 7,000 out of the last rear Dunlop. Just put on a new metzeler on the rear and am curious to how long it'll last. Guess we'll see! Also, no burnouts for me, They're cool to watch, but too hard on the bike for my taste.

Thumbs up

Fun Country , didnt mean to imply that you were a rookie..
re-read you first post , and I see you were not asking how to get more miles out of your tires....

Great country you live in , I was there for nine years in the eighties.
West plains area. "Porter Wagoner" main drag.

Keep safe

I have 54k on my Road King now.

Dunlop D402's averaged 7-7.5K

Switched to Dunlop Elite 3's 13.5K with a better traction and better handling & ride. Just put another set of 3's on Monday. This is my second set and will never waste my time and money on another D402.

You can also get them the a lot cheaper than the D402's !

I have 10,000 miles on my tires right now. I will be changing this fall, but they are ok for now.
