Do deer whistles really work?

I'm not sure how well the deer whistles but I know the bug whistles work for sure. I've had a set of bug whistles on my bike for years and have yet to be hit by a bug.

Google the subject and you'll find studies that conclude that they may actually attract deer.

My uncle put them on his car and two days later he hit a deer. He never heard the end of that.

My mother hit a dee with them on her buick.
Put a compound bow on your bike and just draw it every so often. Scares deer away for me every fall!

Well I know what happens when I whistle for my dog. So I don't think I will be using them.

I don't know, but my grandma always had them on her cars...she, in over 70 years of driving, never hit a deer; now carports are another story....
