Default Rockerbox ticking on my Evo

I have just done a cam swap. I installed a Andrews EV-27 cam and adjustable pushrods but still have the oem stock lifters (only 7000 miles on them). I have set push rods in many bikes so i dont think that is the problem or should they be set a bit tighter than recomended. But my bike has a ticking that sounds like it is coming from the rockerbox ,before the cam swap it was quiet. Looking for input , is it that the lifters are not up to par for the cam ??? The bike performs awsome , just the ticking bugs me !!!

No idea, but you need to post this on the evo site, half the guys on here probably dont know what an evo is.

Run your pushrods out an extra half turn.

A buddy of mine put in a set of cams that was so aggressive that he actually had to grind down the inside of his rocker box covers... I'm not sure why he didn't just use adjustable push rods.

+1...I had a similar problem and this is what I did. Not sure if I went as far as a half turn but was advised to tighten them up by a "c___t hair(standard unit of measurement most people understand) past Just Free".

Keep in mind a little loose is better than a little tight.

A little loose is likely why it's a little noisy.......

I put the EV27 in my bike over the winter. With the stock cam it had a slight tick. Now, with the more aggressive cam, it ticks pretty good, but runs awesome. I've put about 4k miles on it so far, and all is well.

How loud is it? All EVOs tick a little...more so with a bigger cam. If it is really loud...might be a exhaust leak at the head...I would check out everything before tightening the push-rods more than recommended.
