You'll probably get a lot of different answers on that question. With the bikes you're looking at even though they both have low miles I would be concerned with things freezing up and drying out. But heck, its only a couple thousand bucks worth a shot if you do your own work in my book. Sounds like a good project bike. Good luck!

I don't know what the difference in those between those two model years.
I would not buy a 25000 mile bike when I can get a 4000 mile bike and that is $200 less.
The 883 will be fast enough to get speeding tickets and take turns fast enough to go off the road on a curve.
Lower mileage say's there will be less repairs as you own it. That translates you will be able to ride now and save money to buy the model Harley that you really want.

Same here, I wouldn't go near a 20 year old bike with 4,000 miles unless I was planning on rebuilding the thing.

25000 is not alot for that year of bike at all. My 2007 1200 has 18700 on it. The 883 with 4000 miles is not bad, but like was said lot of stuff can dry up and there can be alot of sludge in the egine and oil bag. A 1200 is always better than an 883, but for the price range you are in you can't be too picky.
