Going to be my first ride in the rain
Started out as a beautiful morning for the 30 mile commute to work. Now, storms and rain. Darn, I guess you cant outguess mother nature.
Any advice from you for my first wet ride in 20 years? No I don't have a wet suit either..
Free bike wash though!

Good luck on the free wash lol, it'll probably end up more dirty than ever. Your going to get wet, I just laugh about it and remember at least I'm riding, could be a lot less fortunate.
Take it slow and pay a little more attention to the road, and just ride in the tire tracks from the cars in front of you, and just give yourself plenty of room to stop

Thank God I put the windshield on this morning before leaving the house! Some protection anyway. Maybe my wet neoprene face mask too..1/2 helmet with drop down half face shield.

Many previous threads on this. Do a search. Quick start guide:
1. Avoid middle of road where oil, transmission fluid from cages accumulates. Many will say washes off but on heavily travelled roads may not.
2. Road paint extremely slippery, like turning arrows, crosswalks. Like water on ice. Approach cautiously, without excessive lean or speed.
3. Metal, like railroads, sewer grates slippery. Slow down!
4. Wear full face helmet so you can see where the h##l you're going.
Take it easy. Good luck.

Put a rainsuit in your saddlebag. FroggToggs or HD makes a couple of decent ones that pack in their own little bag...easy to store. Some water resistant gloves to help you maintain your grip may be handy also. And be careful when you have to put your foot down (speaking from experience...)

Just take is slow, watch your turns give yourself plenty of distance between you and the vehicle in front of you and enjoy the ride. If its a heavy downpour try to wait it out.
Like I tell everyone the worse thing about riding in the rain is cleaning the bike afterwards.
