I had a J&P Cycle rear tail light/license plat mount that was poorly chromed on the back side, (for my FXSTC).
So I decided to order a HD chrome one. It had tool marks, (like channel locks) chromed over. I gave it to my buddy. He laughed and said I was too annal about it.

Recently, a HD chrome bolt/nut kit for the front tank mount had one side with poorly finished chrome.

Other than those two items, I've been happy with HD/OEM parts.

I often try to save a few dollars by buying aftermarket stuff. It seems like I almost always return that stuff and then buy the OEM. A few more dollars, but almost always high quality.

No way. For the premium price Harley gets for their parts and accessories I think we have a right to expect the quality to be above average.
