Default H-D Frame geometry

Does any know where I can find info on HD frame geometry? I'm looking for difference between Dyna, Softail, and FLH frames, preferably in diagram form. Some of the magazines have them from time to time in new model reviews.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I would think a little searching on the US Patent Offices' website would reveal drawings for the frames.

I doubt Harley publishes all of the information you want, you might have to do like honda did and buy one of each model, then have a team of engineers measure ever aspect and record the information.

I don't know if they still do it, but HD used to have a few drawings in the Factory service manual of the frame and swingarm. The drawing in my FLH (shovel) manual has what looks like all the dimensions, angles, etc. Pretty much everything you need to know to build one from scratch although I'm sure they left out a few items.

If you could get that drawing out of every bike's service manual you wanted, then you could compare them. Not too hard to do if you can get a few guys here to copy that page and post it for you.

What are your plans a tallstroker? The FLT/FLH models are rubber mount engine/trans,the Softtails are solid mounts

Thanks for the help folks. I'm not building or anything all that major. I'm trying to decide between a Softail and a FLH for my next bike, and I'd like to be able to have some hard data to supplement the seat-of-the-pants data.

Thanks again - cheers!

Let's see....... Rent a softail for a weekend, preferably the one you are thinking of buying. Ride it see how you like it. Next weekend rent the FLH of your choice and ride it. Compare and make your choice. Specs don't mean squat. Hard data don't mean nuthin.
