I agree with jamesw and some others.
I can see a huge difference depending on; winds, throttle action, speed and even uphill or down. For instance heading east away from the mountains down hill into the prairies, cruise set at decent hwy speed, with wind at my back, solo (SG) 300 miles on a tank. Turn it all around and I'm down to 220 miles.

Carbed bikes alway seem to get better the the FI's.
with a small tank its very easy to get a 5mpg diff, jsut a couple 1/10s in fill ups will make several mpg diff.
what U have to do it average over the long run. like 10 tanks or so.
The best I've gotten is 48 several times but on the road average is 45-46
In town and putting its around 44 on our riding which is mostly 2 up all the time.
