Dealer put too much oil in my bike. Need advice PLS!

Yes on all the suggestions, but I would also be very sure to still take this up as a complaint to the dealer. In the assumption that the dealer really cares and just has a bad egg changing oil, they need to become aware. Perhaps it was an honest mistake (not excusing it), but perhaps the same tech has had other complaints against him. The dealer needs to know so that if they care, they can take corrective action.

The dealer dang sure did mine. And I know how, specs say 2 1/2 QTs wet and dealers just dump in 3. I also agree dealer needs to know so they can be aware of someone not doing thier job properly.

Had the exact same thing happen to my bike at the 1000 mile "complimentary" service. Needless to say, that dealership hasn't touched my bike's fluids since. Remember, no one cares more about your bike than you do. I know I've heard some techs say that isn't true, but I'm not going back unless it's something I can't do (or learn to do) myself.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I just got back from the dealer and they were very understanding. They drained it to the right level and changed the primary seal which was the cause of the leak. Also I got in writing that they F^$* up in case something happends down the road.
I didn't overfilled it. They did the 5k service I haven't done a lick of service on this bike. I've done it to all of my others bikes except this one but now thats changed.

Mine was overfilled at the 1000 mile service also. A 97 cent turkey baster from Wallyworld fixed the problem. After the free 1000 mile service I always do the rest of the fluid changes. Just a piece of mind thing.

What I would do in your situation is this:
1. Find a turkey baster or similar syringe like implement and remove the excess oil from tank.
2. Assuming you measured the tire pressure when the tire was cold, reduce the tire pressure by 10 psi.
3. Sleep in and forget about going back to the dealer. You probably don't have a leak. What you have is excess oil working it's way out of the fill tube. Removing the excess oil should solve that issue.
4. Start hanging with riders that have mechanical experience that you can learn from.

Checked my wife's Dyna that was serviced at a reputable local bike shop. The oil was a good 1-1/2 inch above the full line. Did not notice until we put a couple 100 miles on it.
That's what I get for being lazy and having someone else do any easy job.
