Thinking about renting a Harley

Thinking about renting a Harley
I am going on a week trip the second week of August across PA. I am going to various places around eastern Pa. I estimate my total riding to be around 1000 or so miles over a week. The majority being the ride there and back.
I want to rent a Heritage Softail as that is the bike I want to move up to next year. Do any of you guys have comments on that type of riding on a Heritage Softail? I thought about a Road King but I much prefer the Heritage Softail in the looks and the seating position catagories.
Last does anyone have any comments on renting a Harley from a dealer?

I have rented from dealers and have very good experiences from dealers.
I had a road king and loved the ride, I did trade for an X and have been even more happy with the X. I have never been on a heritage.

I had a 97 Heritage for 12 years, loved it and only got rid of it because my wife wanted a more comfortable ride for the long trips. I absolutely love the Heritage and you will not have any regrets if you buy one. 1000 mile trips are no problem. It is a great all around bike. Renting from a dealer should be a no brainer...

Thats what I was thinking, renting it would really tell me if I like the bike. Nothing against my Super Glide but it is not the best bike for a long ride.
I have found a dealer that does rent, the closest one is about an hour from me.

I put a rack on it and bought a large expandable T-bag and would have more than enough room for long trips. Did 2 weeks in Sturgis with it going over 3000 miles on that trip along with many other trips that were a blast on the Heritage!

I'd do it than. If you decide to come to eastern PA in august hit me up, I live just over an hour north of harrisburg.
