I have been seeing 'poker run' but not quite following exactly what this is other than it is ride event. Is there any other meaning into this poker run?

 

What you do is buy one or more hands of poker. During the ride you make known stops and pick up a card. At the end of the ride the best hand wins.

 

and in some cases, worst hand as well.

 

Sort of like a scavenger hunt, where you ride to different locations and pick up cards. At the end of the run, all the riders report to one location and turn in their hands, have prizes awarded, eat, drink beer, etc. A little more freestyle than an organized ride.

 

lots of time it is a benefit run for someone...usually will end up at a place with food and drink. start times are spread out and there is usually not a large group riding together. you set your own pace and it is fairly safe--as far as a group function goes. there will still be idiots on crotch rockets and a few that drink too much. it is a chance to meet and greet some new people.

 

Oh, I thought, poke her and run. My bad.
