Anyone climb Mt. Washington

I would have liked to have been up there on a clear day, but.....
Visibility at times can be very poor
The winds were 30+ mph and gusting
The road itself is very nice
Even with the cloud cover at the top it was a cool drive. I'll have to go back on the bike one day!

Went up in 2007 while at the rally. Was scared shitless going up. Piece of cake going down. Funny as its only a little over 6 thousand feet up and I ride at those altitudes all the time here in New Mexico and Colorado. Try the Big Bear mountains in Montana for a REAL thrill! Stop in at Red Lodge.

Ive made the trek up 7 times now. Each time is a different experience. I would suggest if you can go on the bikes only day to do that. It is way less stressful when you don't have cagers pushing you off the road up and back. So other than that just keep a good distance in front of yourself going up so your not shifting too much and the same on the way down. Use your low gear and engine braking as much as possible. There are some nice turn off areas to take a break if you need to. I'm skipping Laconia this yr, going out to Sturgis instead. good luck, Laconia is a great riding rally. jeff
