Default HD Digital oil temp guage?

The one that screws in place of the oil fill/level cap. Does it work accurately? Is it worth the $$$? Been wondering lately what temp the bike is running (summer temperatures) and thinking about adding an oil cooler. What temp is OK for a HD to run with synthetic? Anything helpful is appreciated.

I just put a nice jescustoms oil temp dipstick on my bike, very nice. Check out www.jescustomaccents.com

My Road King runs about 180° when cruising secondary roads on a 70° day. You'll get lots of opinions, but I'd be concerned if oil temp was heading for 300°.

My 2010 ultra runs around 185 with synthetic and a cooler. I have a temp gage in my fairing where the air temp was . Money well spent, imo
