Great read. Thanks.
Reminded me of the quote I recently heard..."chrome won't get you home".
I guess motorcycle know-how is key.

Should be just a few weeks actually. Already have that set of hiccups out of the way, time to find the other ones.

its those crazy thing that you'll remember later in life as great as the trip was it the **** happens thing that youll laugh about.
Already laughing about it, I like to call it my "Polish Luck". This is the luck you get when you are a mix of Irish and Polish. Besides, I got to meet some true heroes on when I had stop and fix something. Met a WWII vet, was one of the original Frogmen in the Navy, shared some good stories and a few tears, also met a Viet Nam vet who had been a POW. I plan on keeping in touch with both, I felt honored to have met them.

On my next trip, I am planning on going up into the U.P. and then over into Wisconsin and down through Illinois and follow Lake Michigan back up to Empire/Glen Arbor area and back down to home. This time I am going to take a tent and maybe some fishing gear to catch and make my own food.

Total round trip, I put on somewhere in the neighborhood of 3800-4000 miles, not bad for a couple of weeks. My a$$ is still sore from the needs to be replaced seat though, but you're all right, I wouldn't have traded it for anything.

Glad you survived Franklin, Ohio. I lived over a flower shop in a studio apartment for 6 months once. Sort of a scary little town.

I enjoyed the entire trip, the good and unfortunate parts, loved every minute of it.

And I find out sometime this week if I am able to go back on active duty, this time it will be Army, not Navy. While I was in I had a blast. And It was definitely my pleasure to have served for the people of this great nation.
