Default Best windshield for Ultra that has no turbulance

I have an ultra and the wind shakes my head around violently at anything above 55 MPH. I like a full windshield for protection and ride 2-up a lot. The shorter windshields really blast the passenger.

Thumbs up

I had a stock WS on my ultra when i got it last fall. I bought a 9 inch from Fastaire. It has the curve on the top and it works really nice for me. Im 6.3 and it is just right when im riding. The shorty WS look cool but your wide open. jeff

these folks are pretty good - http://www.customflhtwindshields.net/
They modified one of their windshields so it would fit the fairing on my yamaha. the one i got extends past the stock about 1.5 inches on each side taking out a lot more wind from getting by the wind screen. i think it was the half moon. will probably get one for my ultra by fall. great service, nice folks, good product....check the site out.

good luck

It may be wind coming up in front of the tank. Have you added the air baffle between the forks?

actually, i'll bet it coming up from the forks. i have the baffle and it helps, but doesn't get rid of it all. alot still comes up from each side of the tank. was going to get some fork lowers but they don't work with the crash bar lowers on. have some fork lowers on my yami and the combination of them and the extended half moon windshield from the guys above cuts almost all the wind.

What kind of helmet do you wear? I notice that I get a lot less buffeting with a 3/4 and faceshield than I do with a 1/2 helmet.

Before getting another windshield I would get the air baffle for the front end. It is inexpensive and made a huge difference for me.

I tried 3 different makes on the BargeGlide before I landed with the LRS X-Stream. No buffeting as the air is diverted above and outside the riders shoulders.

I won't use anything else.
