Default Ever Build a Table Lift?

I bought and returned a Sears red jack... just didnt like it. Then on the net I found where some fella is selling plans to build a Table Lift and a jack. I am l interested in the lift. Has anyone ever built a lift from scratch. The company name is AFAB. I am not promoting them, just asking if anyone has done it in the past? If you did how did you like it?

Here is the link. http://www.afabonline.com/cycle.htm

I believe I would just go and buy the Harbor Freight one. Right now it is on sale for $299. Do some searching around and you can find a 20% off coupon. The coupon is good for use on sale items. My buddy has one of the HF lifts. The only drawback to it that I can see is the wheel vise could be better. You can upgrade wheel vises for a few bucks and have a nice unit.

I second the Harbor Freight lift. I am thinking of getting one myself.

I have the HF one also. Bought a nice angled vise off Ebay for about $40 shipped. Lift now works awesome. They also have a new model that already has an angled vise on it and is air over hydraulic that is $399. The coupon should still work on the $399 one of you are interested in that route. Once you replace the vise though, the $299 one is more than sufficient for a home garage.

This forum has gone and flared up my itch again. You know the itch. I might as well admit to myself now that I will probably be spending $399 in the near future. I've bought more parts since I've been on this forum the last few months than I had in2 1/2years!

I have the HF table lift. I bought it on sale for $299 with a 20% off coupon. Best $240 I ever spent. With my old knees it sure helps out. I use mine alot because I work on by friends bikes. I changed out the front tire vise and put on a Bike Pro chock that I move from it to the trailer. I can load on the trailer or the lift by myself. I have had heavier bikes than and Ultra on it with no problem.
