Do you have to look like Grizzley Adams to have a HD?

I think he was the stunt many on Easy Rider and did the repairs on the bikes during the movie. but Cliff Vaughs and Ben Hardy actually built them.

In the past, I’ve talked to people who say “no I don’t want a Harley, because I don’t have the look. Like a beard, goatee, tattoos, long hair or bald, the grizzled look.”
I’ve been riding 40 years and never had a look. I have been told that I look act and sound different when I come off a day’s ride.

It's bad enough when non-riders want to stereotype motorcycle riders, but I don't get it when fellow riders feel a need to push the same stereotypes. For crying out loud, if you walk into any Harley dealership or go to any rally anywhere in the country, you'd see that the hobby has room for all shapes, sizes and looks.

Yesterday we rode to a small city on Lake Erie that is a biker destination. There is all kinds that ride. I seen some that had that old school biker look, buit over all people are just people and ride and dress how they like.

I went to bike week at Myrtle Beach 2 weeks ago. There was ALL types, young, old, fat, thin, male, female. I have to admit that I had a better time looking at the attendee's bikes in the lot and thier owners than the vendors. That being said it is hard to generalize about Harley owners. When I go to a bike event here in East Tennessee it looks like a ***** Nelson look alike contest. I think that say more about the area than about bikers. Just saying....

Good info, I was going to say the same thing.
Ben Hardy has never gotten the credit and respect that he deserves.
Here's a link for those not in the know.

So much good training available now, there is no need to be all over the road. Being unable to take a corner at the posted mph on the little yellow suggestion sign and having no lane discipline should be cause for concern to all.
Practice, and train, and practice some more.
