In my truck, merging onto the interstate one night. Ramp was on a curve to the right. Looked, all clear no lights, starting to merge when my buddy says "Watch Out!". I quickly moved back into the merge lane and a group of crotch rockets went by so fast I just saw a series of flashes and they were gone.

So, 'I didn't see them' really did apply here.

There's a guy that hangs out at the same dealership that I do. I was making a U-turn in my truck & he was coming. I had enough room to make the turn, but he thought it was a little too close for comfort, so now he always gives me some good-natured crap whenever we are both hangin' there!

It pulled out in front of a HD rider a few months ago and I felt like ****

It was dark, about 7:30PM, and it happened on a merge lane. I looked but never saw him. He then rode up beside me and flipped me off. I deserved it.

Pulled in behind a dump truck from an onramp to the highway. Had seen the bike behind the truck, but I had plenty of room. Never saw his buddy, who was evidently closer to the truck - saw him really drop back in my rear view mirror. Was really PO'd at myself - but glad he was paying attention enough for both of us.

Glad to see I'm not alone.

One good thing is that there are a lot more 2-wheelers out there these days, and I think that visibility has made automobile drivers, and other bike riders, more aware of our presence.

When I ride in urban areas, I think of it as a video game...ever alert for the unexpected. Riding in the country, I can unlax a bit and just worry about 4-legged critters, which are often more sensible than the 2-legged type. Except for deer. Who invented those damn things anyway? They should have made 'em smaller.

Last summer I was pulling out of my street on my way to work at 0530. At the stop sign, I looked left and what I thought I saw was a black full size van with one headlight out coming in my direction, but I had enough time to go. What was actually there was a black electraglide, being followed by a black full size van that had both lights off. I never saw the bike until after I pulled out, and he almost hit my door. He was as pissed as I would have been if the rolls were reversed. I almost killed the poor guy. I thought about stopping and explaining what happend, but I thought it would probably be better if i went on my way, hoping he didn't follow me. It shook me up for a while, but makes me extra careful when passing side streets.
