Never in front of a motorcycle but I have misjudged the distance a few times on small fast cars.

Not that I recall. I've caught one last second before taking my foot off the brake. I've almost merged into one that was right on a cars butt on the interstate.

I almost pulled out in front of a bike some years back. I was leaving my Mom's house and came up to a 3 way intersection. I stopped at the Stop sign and started to pull out. There was a large phone pole to my left that hid the bike approaching ... The guy slid to a stop as I stopped, shot me a bird then drove off.

It was my fault and I deserved the bird!!!

For those of you who think Loud Pipes Save Lives is BS, I was pulling out of a gas station in the country at night. I heard pipes but couldn't see a bike. Had to look 3 times before I saw that he was positioned in front of a car, in a way that made his lights blend in with the car's headlights. If I hadn't heard the pipes I would have pulled out in front. Just another reason to weave at night if you are approaching a car waiting to pull out. My new bike has loud pipes, and I don't like that in a lot of ways, but I'm leaving them on for safety, (and the 3 year old in me likes that noise).

I also noticed that he would ride in the blind spot next to cars.
I guess the operative words here are used to ride with a guy. I wouldn't ride with someone like that either.

It has happened. Mainly because some bikers are douchebags and don't observe the full rules of the road. They act as a vehicle when they want to, until being a pedestrian is more convenient.

I think intersections are designed now so vehicles making a left turn can see oncoming traffic better. 25 years ago I don't think they were. I made a left turn and even looking for traffic, didn't see the motorcycle. He hit the brakes and I sped up so he missed me. I think if he was closer to the shoulder I would have seen him sooner. Anyway, scared the crap out of me. I'm sure he about **** himself, too.
